Larry Ray Popejoy
July 22, 1955 - February 22, 2018

Mr. Larry Ray “Pop” Popejoy of Trumann, Ark, departed this life on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ark., at the age of 62 years and 7 months. He was born Friday, July 22, 1955 in Harrisburg, Arkansas, to the late Floyd Eugene “Dick” Popejoy Jr. and Mary Etta Burtcher Swinfond, and had lived most of his lifetime in Trumann. He was an Asst. Manager at Farmers Market in Lake City, and was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Linda Yancey Popejoy of the home; one daughter, Katie Popejoy and fiancée, Justin Kirkland of Trumann; two sons, Brad Popejoy and Adam Popejoy both of Trumann; grandchildren: Hunter Odom and Haidyn Herod; two sisters, Debra Rogers of Pontotoc, Miss., and Darla Smith of Harrisburg; and one brother, Jerry Popejoy of Trumann.

Funeral services will be Wednesday evening at 6:00 p.m. in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Loggins officiating. Private burial will follow.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann.

    I had the privilege of working with Larry at Farmers Market in Lake City several years ago. He was always smiling and had stories to share. I do not recall ever seeing him mad. Enjoyed working with him and have many memories from my first job at the grocery store. He talked about his wife and children often and was such a hard worker. I am so thankful to hear he got saved recently. My heart hurts for his wife, children, grandkids, and family.
