    When I was a little girl about 5 years old. I'd go over to my papaw & mamaw Brooks'(Alma & Edward). He'd come over in that little red car with a stick shift. He'd ask me "if his girlfriend wanted to go and get a ice cream cone". He meant a lot to me. He was so sweet.

    I have many fond memories of Bro. Brooks and his family. He and my father, Thomas Ray (also a minister) were very good friends, and I can remember visiting with the Brooks family many, many times. Bro. Brooks will be missed by his family and friends here on this earth, but he was welcomed home by his family and friends that had gone on before him, and I know that my dad was one of those that was there to greet him. My heart goes out to his family because I know that they are dealing with the grief of losing their beloved father and grandfather. May God comfort you in this time of sorrow. Linda Stidem

    We thank our Dad for all he taught us and gave to us. We know his home here during his lifetime does not start to compare with his heavenly eternal home. We will always miss him but know that he is with Mama and Terry, and many many others whom he loved. Thank you God for allowing us to be honored with him as a daddy, teacher, and role model for so many years. We love you.

    Horace was a great Uncle and I will always remember his teasing and smiling face. He was a great asset to our family. Mom, dad and all us kids loved him very much. Be thankful for the good life he lived. Your memories will sustain you in your time of sorrow. God Bless you all.

    I have some fond memories of uncle Horace and was very sad to hear of his passing. He was definitely a man working for God and it is for sure that he is at rest with the lord. Bless all of those that he leaves behind.
