When I was a little girl about 5 years old. I'd go over to my papaw & mamaw Brooks'(Alma & Edward). He'd come over in that little red car with a stick shift. He'd ask me "if his girlfriend wanted to go and get a ice cream cone". He meant a lot to me. He was so sweet.

I have many fond memories of Bro. Brooks and his family. He and my father, Thomas Ray (also a minister) were very good friends, and I can remember visiting with the Brooks family many, many times. Bro. Brooks will be missed by his family and friends here on this earth, but he was welcomed home by his family and friends that had gone on before him, and I know that my dad was one of those that was there to greet him. My heart goes out to his family because I know that they are dealing with the grief of losing their beloved father and grandfather. May God comfort you in this time of sorrow. Linda Stidem

We thank our Dad for all he taught us and gave to us. We know his home here during his lifetime does not start to compare with his heavenly eternal home. We will always miss him but know that he is with Mama and Terry, and many many others whom he loved. Thank you God for allowing us to be honored with him as a daddy, teacher, and role model for so many years. We love you.

Dearest Brenda & Joey:I am so saddened by the loss of your father and Joey's father in law. I am certain he was very significant in you alls life and know that your heart must be broken at this sad time. We all know that he is with our Lord right now, but it is human nature for us to be selfish and not let our loved ones go away and leave us. Just wanted you two to know that you are in our prayers and I have asked God to comfort and hold you during this sad time. May God continue to bless each one of you and children.Ellen Smith(RCR) work with Joey
