TRUMANN - Mr. Joe E. Houston, 68, of Trumann died Saturday, May 17, 2008 at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. He was born in Parsons, TN and had lived in Trumann, AR., for the past 1 1/2 years. He was a retired cutting room supervisor for Salant & Salant, an avid outdoorsman and of the Baptist faith. Mr. Houston was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Martha Knight Houston, two sisters and four brothers. Survivors include his wife, Caroline Houston of the home, two daughters, Susy Houston of Parson, TN., and Amy Karrigan of Allen, TX.; one step-son, Kevin Watkins of Trumann; three sisters, Georgia Mae Woods of Maywood, Ill., Lucille Kindle of Parsons, Tenn., and Patsy Reeves of Darden, Tenn., and two granddaughters, Madison Karrigan and McKenna Karrigan and two step-grandsons, Tyler Watkins and Daniel Watkins Funeral service will be Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. at the First General Baptist Church in Trumann with Bro. Jimmy Burroughs and Kevin Watkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday evening from 5 - 8 pm at the Thompson Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Kristopher Karrigan, Tyler Watkins, Daniel Watkins, Tony Holt, Gary Smith and Michael Smith Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association, or the National Kidney Foundation.
