Shelia Darna Mitchell
February 8, 1956 - May 19, 2006

Mrs. Shelia Darna Mitchell , 50, of Trumann died Friday, May 19th, at the NEA Medical Center in Jonesboro. She was born in Jonesboro and was a lifetime resident of Trumann. Mrs. Mitchell was an inventory control clerk for Rowsey Furniture in Jonesboro and had formerly worked for 21 years for K-Mart and was a member of the McCormick Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her father, Bro. Stoney Busby in 1986. Survivors include her husband, Terry W. Mitchell of the home; a son, Marcus Wayne Mitchell of the home; her mother, Mornay Christy Busby of Trumann; and two sisters, Dottie Hicks and Regina Etter both of Trumann. Funeral services will be Monday, May 22nd at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of Trumann, with the Rev. Jim Frazier officiating. Burial will follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery at Jonesboro. Pallbearers will be Charles Mitchell, Ricky Mitchell, Glen Miller, Toney Busby, Rick Winkles and Ronnie Samuels. Visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home. Online guest book at www.thompsonfuneralhome.net.

    I worked with Shelia at Kmart for several years. She was always a kind, warm, funny lady with an unimaginable inner strength when she needed it most. Although I had not seen her for several years, I always kept track of her and Marcus through my mother, Carol Kay Moore. She will definitely be missed.

    Deare Terry and Marcus,I am so sorry about Shelia. She was a wonderful person, always upbeat no matter what was going on with her. Terry -I know how hard this is on you,you two have always been together,she is in a better place with God and you have to keep in mind that she is waiting for you someday. Faith in God is all that will get you through this, but he will.Marcus;your mom wanted you so badly and you were her greatest joy..
