Donnie Lee Pipes
January 12, 1947 - August 20, 2020

Mr. Donnie Lee Pipes of Trumann departed from this life on Thursday, August 20, 2020 at St. Elizabeth Place in Jonesboro, AR at the age of 73 years, 7 months and 8 days.  He was born Sunday, January 12, 1947 in Trumann and lived in Kansas City , Mo before moving back to Trumann in 1970.   He was a purchaser agent with Dana Corporation and a veteran of US Army and a member of First Baptist Church where he served as an usher.  He was preceded in death by his daughter, Donna Ann Pipes; one sister, Glenda Parsley and his parents, Bennie and Illa Dean McCarty Pipes. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Barbara Elder Pipes of the home; and one sister, Brenda Pipes of Trumann.      Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann.  A Celebration of life will be Wednesday morning at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home with Rev. John Maley officiating.   Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery in Jonesboro, AR.  In compliance with COVID-19 restrictions social distancing will be required along with face masks and the signing of a COVID-19 form will be require. Pallbearers will be Jim Sellers, Wes Osment and Bill Gibbs. An online register book can be signed at www.thompsonfuneralhome.net.
