Richard Elmo Lane
May 25, 1941 - January 29, 2021

Richard Elmo “Big Papa” Lane of Trumann departed this life on Friday, January 29, 2021 at Three Rivers Nursing Center in Marked Tree, AR at the age of 79 years, 8 months and 4 days.  He was born Sunday, May 25, 1941 in and was a lifetime resident of Trumann and a member of Viva Drive Church of Christ in Trumann.  He was a retired truck driver, taught Truck Driving at Delta Technical Institute in Marked Tree and was a bus driver for Trumann Public Schools. He loved music and was part of Shady Hill Bluegrass Band and the Wolfpack Band for Radio Station 95.9. He was preceded in death by one brother, Arthur Lee, Jr.  And his parents, Arthur Lee and Dessie E. Akin Lane       Mr. Lane  is survived by his wife, Linda Sue Medlock Lane of the home; two daughters, Teresa (Terry) Gean of Jonesboro and Bonita (Wil) Garrabrant of Hot Springs, Ark.; two sons, Lee (Debra) Lane of and Michael Lane both of Jonesboro; two step-daughters, Cindy (Lee) Reeves and Christy (Ronnie) Blagg both of Trumann; two step sons, Tracy Kemper of Paragould and Greg (Kelly) Kemper of Bay; one sister, Bernice Maglothin Bates of Jonesboro; 10 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 12 step-grandchildren and 16 step-great-grandchildren.          Visitation will be Tuesday, February 2nd  from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann.  A Celebration of Life graveside service will be Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Oaklawn Cemetery in Jonesboro with Bill Willard officiating.  Burial will follow with Thompson Funeral Home of Trumann in charge of arrangements.         Pallbearers are Cody Jackson, Bill Williams, Redmond Keisler, Randy Keisler, Tracy Kemper, and Wayne Blagg.       In compliance with Covid-19 guidelines, a mask or other facial covering is required, a Covid-19 acknowledgement form is required to be signed and social distancing will be observed.       Online guest book can be signed at www.thompsonfuneralhome.net
