Ann Karnes
February 5, 1953 - September 20, 2021

Virginia Ann Fortson Karnes of Trumann departed this life on Monday, September 20, 2021 in Jonesboro, AR at the age of 68 years, 7 months and 15 days.  She was born Sunday, February 5, 1953 in Haines City, FL to Floyd Edward and Macil Wright Fortson.  Ann worked for Gary’s Pharmacy as a pharmacy tech for over 30 years.  She loved to cook, and work the concession stand at THS for over 20 years and was a past Band Booster President and was of the Baptist faith.     She was preceded in death by her father.       She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Dale Karnes of the home; one son, Jim Edd (Chrystal Morrison) Karnes of Russellville, AR; one daughter, Kari (Marc Wilson) Karnes of Perryville, AR; her mother, Macil Fortson; three sisters, Phyllis (Kenny) McMahan, Faye Halfacre and Pam (George) Duboise all of Trumann; one grandchild, Jordan Karnes.       Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 til 7:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann.  A Celebration of Life will be Friday morning at 10:00 a.m. in Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home with Rev. Kenny Guy McMahan officiating.  Burial will follow in Bolivar Cemetery near Harrisburg.      Lasting memorials can be made to Gods New Life in Marked Tree and Mission Bible Training Center.       In compliance with COVID-19 guidelines, a mask or other facial covering will be required and social distancing will be observed as requested by family.       Online guest book can be signed at www.thompsonfuneralhome.net
