Donald Ray Guthrie
February 9, 1971 - October 8, 2021

Mr. Donald Ray Guthrie, Jr., of Gentry, AR., affectionately known as “Big Daddy Ray” departed this life on Friday, October 8, 2021 in Hackett, AR to be with his Lord and Savior at the age of 50 years, 7 months and 29 days.  He was born Tuesday, February 9, 1971 in Chicago, IL and had lived in Gentry for the past 2 years and was formerly of Paragould.  He was a electrician for the Paschal Air Plumbing & Electrical Company in Springdale, AR.  “Daddy Ray” could often be found calling the hogs for a Razorback games, or gathered around his family whom he cherished most in the world.  He was a light in he dark for all who knew him, and offered a smile, a hug, and a joke to anyone willing to receive it.  His life was a testimony of his faith and one all of his loved ones aspire to uphold.       Ray is survived by two daughters, Amber Guthrie of Conway, AR and Mary Guthrie of Paragould, AR; six sons, Andrew (Jadyn) Tippitt of Jonesboro, Jacob (Amie) Tippitt, Brandon Guthrie, Clifton Chastain and Glenn Fitzgerald all of Paragould, AR and Kane Barron of Fayetteville, AR; father, Donald Ray (Shirley) Guthrie, Sr. of Trumann; mother, Maxcean Jiffie Long of Fayetteville; three sisters, Donna Brown of Gentry, AR, June Besel of Springdale and Daina Smith of Trumann; two brothers, J. D. Guthrie of Bono, AR and Ralph Guthrie of Trumann; two grandchildren, Malachi and Tuff Tippitt and many other friends and loved ones.       A celebration of life will be Friday morning at 10 A.M. in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home with Eugene Guthrie and Ralph Guthrie officiating.  Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery in Jonesboro, AR.       Pallbearers will be Andrew Tippitt, Jacob Tippitt, Brandon Guthrie, J.D. Guthrie, Ralph Guthrie, John Owens, and Josh Brown.  Honorary pallbearers are Christian, Caleb, and Colby Arrington, David Cruz, Clifton Chastain, Glenn Fitzgerald and Tyler Trayler.    Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann, AR.          Online guest book can be signed at ww.thompsonfuneralhome.net.
