Betty Joyce Collins
September 28, 1938 - June 17, 2024

Mrs. Betty Joyce Onstead Collins 85 of Trumann left this walk of life and entered into her heavenly home Monday, June 17, 2024 at Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, AR.  Betty was born September 28, 1938 in Nettleton, AR and lived most of her life in Trumann.  She was a factory worker at Salant and Salant and Obion.  She loved to sew, gardening, canning vegetables and fruit, working in her beautiful flower beds, and she took great pride in caring for her family.  She was of the Pentecostal faith, of Healing Hands Community Church.  She is preceded in death by the love of her life Richard Caril Collins, spending 62 precious year together, her daughter Lavita Collins Walker, her brother Charles Onstead, and her parents, Paul & Rosa Lee Carter Onstead. She is survived by her daughter & loving caregiver, Carol Brooks Smithson (Harold) of Trumann, and Melissa Mabe (Richard) of Cherokee Village; six grandchildren whom she loved and were her pride and joy, Autumn Hicks (David), Jennifer Tyner (Mike), Amber Johnson (Patrick), Zachary Fleming (Taylor), Leiona Brown (Dusty) and Raven Walker; ten great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.  Her sister/sister-in-law, Linda K Williams (Avondale) whom she loved dearly, brother-in-law, HR Collins, a host of nieces and nephews who thought the world of her, and Junior Collins. Pallbearers will be Zachery Fleming, Colton Foster, Ty Foster, Lucas Mabe, Patrick Johnson, Dusty Brown and Matt Mabe.  Honorary pallbearers are Avondale Williams (Brother-in-law), HR Collins (Brother-in-law), Debbie Smith (Family friend).       The family will receive friends on Monday, June 24th from 12:30 to 1:30 at Thompson Funeral Home of Trumann.  A Celebration of life will follow at 1:30 with Rev. Linda K Williams and Rev. Anthony Patterson officiating.  Burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery in Jonesboro, AR.   An online register book can be signed at www.thompsonfuneralhome.net
