Derrick Scott Fletcher
May 27, 1987 - June 26, 2024

Derrick Scott Fletcher, a devoted Navy Veteran and journeyman electrician by trade passed away at the family residence in Jonesboro on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at the age of 37 years and 30 days. He was born on Wednesday, May 27, 1987, in Jonesboro, Arkansas and was of the Baptist faith. Derrick’s love for life was evident in all he did, from his adventures in the great outdoors to his culinary creations.       Whether at the beach, fishing, hunting, playing sports or family BBQs, Derrick enjoyed spending time with friends and family. His passion for cooking was only surpassed by his love for helping others. He made it his mission to help those in need, with a focus on disabled and homeless Veterans. Derrick would gather food and supplies for veterans, storm victims and animal shelters. Rest In Peace Derrick you will be truly missed. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Alta Newell and Roxanna Mae Sandmann.       He is survived by his Mother, Ina (Darrell) Dawson of Jonesboro: his Father Brian (Angie) Fletcher of Polk City, FL; one brother Evan Dawson of Jonesboro; four sisters, Lori (Woody) Adams of Cabot, AR, Brianna Carter of Trumann, Alison (Kaden) Lindsey of Harrisburg and Emily (Jared) Cude of Jonesboro, many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.       The family will receive friends Friday, July 12th from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann. A Celebration of Life will follow at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel with Rev. John Dillinger officiating.  Derrick will be laid to rest at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery at Birdeye.         Online register book can be signed at www.thompsonfuneralhome.net
