Nellie D. Holt
June 25, 1936 - July 12, 2024

Nellie D. Holt, 88 of Trumann left this life to be with the Lord on Friday, July 12th at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro.  She loved flowers and gardening and taking care of her home.  She loved her family, grandchildren, her church and church family.  Nellie was born Thursday, June 25, 1936 in Trumann and was a lifetime resident of Trumann and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.  Nellie was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, J. C. Holt, her son Robert Neal Holt, one brother, Jimmy Watkins and her parents,  R.E. and Alice Terry Watkins.       She is survived by one daughter, Kay (Ricky) Dobbins of Trumann; one son, Jeff (Tracy) Holt of Paragould, AR.; one brother, Terry Watkins of Bono; three sisters, Billie Jean Eastin, Phyllis Staggs both of Jonesboro and Suzette Stroud of Dallas TX; six grandchildren, Tanner Holt, Lori Malone, Danielle Marshall, Richard Dobbins, Audrey Dobbins and Sarah Wilson and nine great-grandchildren.       Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann.  A celebration of life will follow at 6:00  p.m. in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home with Rev. Ricky Dobbins officiating. Burial will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Jonesboro Memorial Park in Jonesboro.         Active pallbearers will be Richard Dobbins, Tanner Holt, Holt Marshall, Eli Malone, Ean Malone and Blaine Wilson.      Lasting Memorials can be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 305 Bell St., Trumann, AR. 72472.      Online register book can be signed at www.thompsonfuneralhome.net

    I am so sorry to hear of Nellie’s passing, but joyful that she now has her eternal home. I remember her and Aunt Dee fondly and how they were a faithful part of the Terry family funerals throughout my life. I’m sorry I could not be in attendance for her funeral.
