William Gary Burgess
July 23, 1975 - November 19, 2024

William Gary “Bubba” Burgess, Jr., of Trumann, departed this life Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at the Elvis Presley Trauma Center in Memphis, TN at the age of 49 years, 3 months and 27 days.  Bubba was one of a kind with his rosy red cheeks and big grin. He was always smiling. Bubba had a very contagious laugh and never met a stranger. When he was younger he loved racing his dirt bike and making mud pies with his sister Tracy. In adulthood Bubba fell in love with NASCAR racing and he became a huge Jeff Gordon fan. He loved #24. Bubba loved to hunt and ride his Harley and he loved to shine up his truck and farming. Bubba was a graduate of Trumann High School class of 1994.       Bubba leaves behind his mother, Patricia Burgess of Trumann; his father Gary (Carolyn) Burgess of Trumann; grandmother, Joann Burgess of Trumann; two sons, Tyler (Kasey) Burgess of Greenville, MS, Hunter Burgess of Trumann; two sisters, Tracy (Justin) Davis of Trumann, Camille (Brete) Garland of Fayetteville, AR; two brothers, Kyle (Melissa) Shrader of Bay, AR Brandon (Heather) Shrader of Trumann; former wife and his best friend, Candice Burgess of Trumann and her son Logan; Several nieces including his favorite special sister niece, Jessica (Will) Free of Trumann, Caroline (Justin) Herburger, Ella, Hassie, Evie, and Alice; two nephews, Christian and K.J. and one four legged nephew Waylon; several aunts and uncles, Kim (Phil) Smith (his favorites), Neva, Gina, Debby, Charlie, Fred and Johnny; two of his greatest blessings, his grandkids, Brayleigh Grace and William “Beau”. Bubba loved being a grandpa.       He joins his granddad, W.O. Burgess,  grandparents Fred and Dolly Whitman and great-grandparents Toad and Annabelle Burgess.       The family will receive friends Friday, November 22, 2024 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home. A Celebration of life will be Saturday, November 23, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home with the Rev. John Miles officiating. Burial will follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home. Pallbearers are: Jarod Bozart, Justin Smith, Ricky Pruitt, J.R. Coker, Will Free and Don D. Walton. Honorary Pallbearers are: Justin Davis, Charles Simpson, Derek Walton, Greg Cochran, and Brent Henderson.       An online register book can be signed at thompsonfuneralhome.net

    Oh this breaks my heart!! Bubba was such a good friend to me! It didn't matter what, where or when, if I needed him he was always there. From being a groomsman at my wedding to being one of the first people to reach out when my dad died, even driving an hour to bring me gas when I ran out once , he never was too busy to help. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. I love you Bubba fly high and I'll see you soon..
