Robert Douglas Stanley
March 29, 1942 - February 7, 2025

Robert Douglas “Doug” Stanley of Trumann, departed this life on Friday  February 7, 2025, at St. Bernard’s Medical Center in Jonesboro Ark., at the age of 82 years, 10 months and 9 days.  He was born Sunday, March 29, 1942 in Jonesboro and was a lifetime resident of Trumann. Doug was a retired engineer for the Singer Company and manager for Great Dane Corp.  Doug loved to go fishing, watch NASCAR and play with his dog Bandy and was of the Church of Christ faith. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Veeta Marie Crites Stanley;  one sister, Betty Jo Moore and was the son of the late Robert “Bob” and Pearl Williamson Stanley.      Survivors include two sons, Billy (Kristie) Stanley of Bay and Mark (Cecilia) Stanley of Lake City; one daughter, Dawn (Gary) Overman of Caraway; one brother, Howard Stanley of Jonesboro; five grandchildren, Aaron Stanley, Samantha (Michael) Owens, Casey (Mandy) Stanley, Courtney (William) Tate and Bryce Overman;  and eleven great-grandchildren.         The family will receive friends Monday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann.  A Celebration of Life will follow in the chapel at 1:30 p.m. with Mitch Sparks officiating.  Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park in Jonesboro, AR.       Active pallbearers will be Aaron Stanley, Casey Stanley, Michael Owens, William Tate, Scott Crites and Jason Kain.            Online guest book can be signed  at www.thompsonfuneralhome.net.
