Mary Lloyd Johnson
August 23, 1927 - December 26, 2025

Mrs. Mary Lloyd Johnson of Trumann, Ark., departed this life on Friday, December 26, 2025 in Jonesboro, Ark at the age of 98 years, 4 months 3 days.  She was born August 23, 1927 in Earle, Arkansas to the late Guy and Mary Bell Snelson Kirk.  Mary was preceded in death by her husband Bluford Johnson, her parents, three brothers, Obie, LC, and Cleveland, and one sister Ruby Case.  She was the oldest of 6 siblings.       She attended school in Trumann where she met her future husband Bluford.  They were married June 29th, 1945 for 68 years.  They eventually settled in Trumann where Mary Lloyd worked at the Singer Plant, then becoming a cosmetologist, and eventually retired in 1990 after working as a certified Patient Care Technician for 14 years.      She was a faithful member of Maple Grove Baptist Church and the senior ladies Sunday School Class.  Mary had many loved and cherished friends.  She loved cooking and preparing many meals for church events.  She loved gardening, canning and a avid reader. One of her passions was picking up and preparing pecans.  Her true passion was caring for others as she worked as a Patient Care Technician.      She is survived by one son, John Michael Johnson, one daughter, Belinda Yancy (Jimmy) both of Jonesboro, her youngest sister Patricia Trankler of Branson, Missouri, two grandchildren, Chad Yancy (Erica) and Ashley Clayton; two great grandchildren, Caleb Mark Clayton, and Kopeland Klaire Yancy of Jonesboro.  She had many cousins, nieces and nephews whom she adored.     The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann. A Celebration of life will follow in the chapel at 6:00 p.m. with Rev. Jim Duffel. Burial will be private at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery in Jonesboro, Ark.       Memorials may be made to Maple Grove Baptist Church, 13509 Maple Grove Lane in Trumann.          Online guest book can be signed at www.thompsonfuneralhome.net.
