David D. Sloan
April 22, 1944 - September 27, 2016

Mr. David D. Sloan of Trumann departed this life on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, Tenn., at the age of 72 years, 5 months and 5 days. Mr. Sloan was born Saturday, April 22, 1944 and a lifetime resident of Trumann, Ark. He was an master electrician and part owner of Stewart Electric and a member of First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by one brother, Tommy Joe Sloan, and his parents Dick and Pauline Morrison Sloan. He is survived by his wife of 52 years Suzanne Hurst Sloan of the home; one son, Wesley Sloan and wife Tish of Jonesboro, Ark; one daughter, Kristen Brewer and husband Rocky of Mountain Home, Ark; two grandchildren, Olivia Brewer and Konnor Brewer; three sisters, Bonnie Smith of Springfield, MO, Betty Kraus of St. Louis, MO, and Linda Joyce Sprung of St. Louis, MO. Funeral service will be Thursday evening at 6:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church 1301 Hwy 69 West in Trumann with Rev. John Maley officiating. Graveside service will be Friday morning at 11:00 a.m. at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery in Jonesboro, Ark., under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home of Trumann. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bay High School Class of 1962. Visitation will be Thursday afternoon from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Trumann. The family requests memorials be made to First Baptist Church P.O. Box 575 Trumann, AR 72472. An online register book can be signed at www.thompsonfuneralhome.net.
