Charles Ray Glidewell

Mr. Charles Ray Glidewell of Trumann died Saturday, January 23, 2016 at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ark.,at the age of 89 years, 10 months, and 16 days. He was born Sunday, March 7, 1926 in Michie, Tenn., and had lived most of his lifetime in Trumann. He was a retired supervisor for the former Singer Company in Trumann and was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Elsie Geraldine Glidewell; great-grandson, Emsley McNair, one sister, two brothers and his parents, He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Gray Glidewell of the home; son, Gerald Glidewell and wife Rayva of Trumann; two step-daughters, Phyllis McElhaney and Amy Davis both of Jonesboro, two granddaughters, Mika Davis and Maranda McNair both of Trumann; three step-grandsons, Shane Harville, Lance Davis and Daniel Davis all of Jonesboro; and three great-grandchildren, Kennedy, Isabella and Parks. Funeral service will be Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Weaver officiating. Burial will follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery in Jonesboro. Pallbearers will be Gerald Brown, Randy McClung, David Davis, Dillon McNair, Lance Davis and Daniel Davis. Visitation will be Monday evening from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann. An online register book can be signed at www.thompsonfuneralhome.net.
