Bluford was a man that made a memorie that i'll never forget! He coached Me and my brother Charlie and was an icon when it came to teaching young boys how to play baseball and prepare them for lifes challenges. I'll never forget him taking all of us ball players by train to see the St.Louis Cardinals back in the fifties and getting Walley Moon to come on the bus and sign artografts. He will be missed by us all. our prayers go out to the family."Larry & Charlie Cook"

Dear Mary Lloyd and family, I was truly saddened to hear of Bluford's passing. I know Heaven rejoiced when he entered the gates, but it is still hard for those of us left behind. I know the Lord is holding you all close right now, meeting your every need. Just know there are lots of us out here whose lives he touched and will feel the void he leaves. I am very thankful for the Lord allowing me time to get to know him, for I am a better person for having known Bluford. My love to you all,Susie

I played ball for many years. Blueford Johnson and Bud Royal coached our little league team for years and he was the most fun, hard working coach I ever had. He taught us he could coach by talking us up. Many great memories . I never heard him use profanity. He will be missed.

  11. Shirley McClaughlin Redd, Jonesboro, Ar says

I am so sorry about an old friend going on even though we all must go to our reward sometime. I have lots of memories of Bluford driving my school bus many years ago. We used to fuss with each other over my sister going to sleep on the bus. However in later years we joked about only seeing each other at funeral visitations. Now I have the unfortunate task of going to his. I hope his family has peace thru his passing. Michael you knew I lost my dad so I understand your lost. May God always carry you thru this lost. RIP old friend.
