Edna Mae Savage Staten
September 11, 1938 - July 5, 2018

     Mrs. Edna Mae Staten passed away on Thursday, July 5, 2018 in Jonesboro, Ark., at the Jonesboro Health & Rehab at the age of 79 years, 9 months and 27 days.  She was born Sunday, September 11, 1938 in Marked Tree, Arkansas and had lived the majority of her life in Trumann, and lived in Richland, WA., as well. She was a homemaker and a member of the Viva Drive Church of Christ. Mrs. Staten was preceded in death by her husband Earnest Staten, Sr., one daughter, Lorie Lynn Sheppard, one son, Paul Edward Staten, 5 sisters, 4 brothers and her parents, James Clarence and Mildred Allred Savage.     She is survived by two daughters, Debra Ann (Mark) Covey of Trumann and Kimberly (William) Stevens of Bono; one son, Earnest Staten Jr. (Barbra) of Phoenix, AZ one sister, Eloise Duvall of Trumann. 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.     Funeral services will be Monday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann with Gary Hill officiating. Burial will follow in the Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery in Jonesboro, Ark.     Pallbearers will be grandsons.     Visitation will be Monday from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home.     Online guest book can be signed at www.thompsonfuneralhome.net

    With mixed feeling I hear this news. Mae is no longer suffering in this world yet in a much better place. You know Earnest was waiting with open arms for his beloved.
