Beatrice Parrish Luna
April 25, 1921 - January 31, 2011

Mrs. Beatrice Luna was born on Monday, April 25, 1921, daughter of the late Melton and Stella Young Parrish. She died on Monday, January 31, 2011 at Trumann Health and Rehab, at the age of 89 years 9 months and 6 days. She was born in Saulsbury, Tenn., and had lived most of her lifetime in Trumann. She was a homemaker, retired factory worker and member of the Viva Drive Church of Christ. She loved crafts and making floral arrangements. She loved her children and her family very much and will be greatly missed by all that knew her. Mrs. Luna was preceded in death by her husband, L.K. Luna, one daughter, Mary Ann Burgess, one grandson, Larry Luna, one sister and her parents. Survivors include one daughter, Betty Beebe of Trumann; three sons, Howard Luna of Trumann, David Luna of Brookland and Jerry Luna of Cabot; one sister, Helen Brock of Walnut Ridge; a grandson whom she raised, Garland Burgess, 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be Wednesday morning at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann, with Gary Hill officiating. Burial will follow in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery in Jonesboro, Ark. Active pallbearers will be Jerry McKinney, Rhew Bales, Quenton Fletcher, J.C. Daniels, Harry Vredinburgh and Howard Luna. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann. An online register book can be signed at www.thompsonfuneralhome.net.
