Freddie Lee Osment
October 31, 1947 - January 29, 2011

Mr. Freddie Lee Osment was born on Friday, October 31, 1947, son of the late C.H. and Norma Pepper Osment, Jr. He died Saturday, January 29, 2011 in Trumann, Ark., at the age of 63 years 2 months and 29 days. He was born in Jonesboro, Ark., and had lived most of his lifetime in Trumann. He was a retired truck driver for Yellow Freight Company, U. S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, member of the Trumann Masonic Lodge and a member of the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church near Trumann. Mr. Osment was preceded in death by one brother, Jerry Osment and his parents. Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Louise Carter Osment of the home; two daughters, Emily Kain and husband Joseph of Gosnell and April Allmond and husband Steve of Forrest City; three sons, Charles Osment and Wesley Osment and wife Autumn both of Trumann and Christopher Bratton of Memphis, Tenn.; two brothers, Jimmy Osment and wife Myra of Germantown, Tenn., and David Osment of Trumann; 6 grandchildren. Funeral service will be Tuesday morning at 10:00 a.m. at the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Trumann with Rev. Larry Loggins officiating. Burial will follow in the Willis Cemetery in Harrisburg, Ark., under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann. Active pallbearers will be Eddie Williams, Bryan Tucker, Barry Ragsdale, Perry Young, Ronnie Parnell and Charles W. Osment. Honorary pallbearers will be the men at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. Visitation will be Monday afternoon from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Trumann. Memorials may be made to the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, 13470 Woodruff Lane in Trumann, Ark. 72472. An online guest book can be signed at www.thompsonfuneralhome.net.

    Family of Freddie, sorry we were unable to attend the funeral. Freddie was a good friend and will be greatly missed. He and Jerry and Jimmie and I slept in a tree house at Hatchie Coon when I was a kid and I saw my first tree frog. I thought they were so lucky to live in the country and have walking access to the river.
