Mrs. Joyce Jean Dodd was born on Monday, August 10, 1936, daughter of the late Emmett and Helen Griffin Hosford. Mrs. Dodd died Friday, January 8, 2010, at the family residence at the age of 73 years 4 months and 29 days. She was born in Marked Tree, Ark., and had lived in Trumann for 20 years moving from Chicago, IL. She was a former employee of the City of Trumann, Library worker, custodian at Trumann Intermediate School, and of the Pentecostal faith. Mrs. Dodd was preceded in death by one son, Marty Dodd, one sister Loyce Forbis, one brother, Hershal Hosford, and her parents. Survivors include her husband, Daryle Dodd of the home, two sons, Darrell Dodd and wife Mona of Jonesboro, Michael Anthony Dodd of Osceola, one daughter, Delois Cerpa and husband Charlie of St. Louis, MO, one brother Boyce Hosford of Gulfport, MS, and two grandchildren, Michelle Cerpa and Charlie Cerpa. Funeral service will be Monday morning at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home with Revs. Ricky Forbis and Boyd Hosman. Burial will follow in Holly Springs Cemetery in Harrisburg, Ark. Active pallbearers will be Jo Jo Dodd, Danny Dodd, Charlie Cerpa, Jimmy Gulley, Al Fisher, and Bobby Leon Benson. Honorary pallbearers will be Wesley Bellew, Ricky Short, and Edsel Kent. Visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann. An online register can be signed at www.thompsonfuneralhome.net
