Obituary
William Neil Carter was born on September 30, 1958, in Trumann, AR. The son of William and Betty Carter. He departed this earth on July 25, 2026, at the age of 67 years, 9 months and 25 days. He is survived by his wife Treva Carter, son Justin Carter (Chasity), daughter Ashley Ballard (Garrett), and son Evan Carter. Sisters Sandy Van Loon (Rick), Karen Penna (William); Grandchildren Tristan Carter, Brycen Carter, Maverick Ballard, Aiden Ballard, Asher Ballard, Braden, Riley, Everleigh, Parker, Ladon, Logan, Barrett, and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents William and Betty Carter; Grandparents LT and Lucille Carter and Oscar and Mollie Conatser.
He lived in Trumann and Jonesboro areas for most of his life. He worked for Kirby Marine as a ship Captain until his retirement starting as a dock hand. After retirement he enjoyed roaming the neighborhood checking on folks on his golf cart. He always enjoyed the outdoors – hunting, fishing, and riding motorcycles. He also enjoyed just simply being with friends and enjoying fellowship.
Pallbearers will be Justin Carter, Russell Snow, Shane Carter, Michael Ray Carter, David Penna, Kelvin Conatser, Michael Conatser, Allan Russell, Tristan Carter, Brycen Carter, Michael Layman and Travis Hubbard.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 29, 2026 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home. Celebration of Life will be Thursday at 1:30 pm with Rev. Jamey Carter officiating and eulogy by Michael Conatser. Burial will follow in Willis Cemetery in Harrisburg.
