Richard “Rick” O Vinson, 73, of Trumann passed away peacefully at his home on August 10, 2026. He was born September 23, 1952 in Jonesboro, Arkansas, to James “Jimp” and Mildred “Midge” Sutterfield Vinson. Rick lived most of his life in Trumann and graduated from Trumann High School in 1970. That same year, he joined the Arkansas National Guard, where he proudly served for six years. Rick was a member of the Baptist faith. During high school, Rick began his career in retail, working for Sterling Store in Trumann. He later managed several stores and spent many years in the retail industry, moving with his family to various cities and states throughout his career. He served as a regional manager for Ben Franklin stores and also managed Walmart stores. Rick had a natural talent for retail and took great pride in his work and the people he met along the way. Outside of work, Rick enjoyed golf, cooking, and interior decorating. He had a creative eye and a love for making things beautiful and welcoming. Rick was also a devoted son and caregiver. Before his mother’s passing in 2025, he was her primary caregiver, a testament to his love and dedication to his family. Rick was preceded in death by one brother, Michael Wayne Vinson; one sister, Donna Jean Watson; his niece, Leslie Watson and his parents. He is survived by two sons, Brian Vinson (Karen) of Trumann and Nathaniel Vinson (Kristina) of Trumann; one daughter, Jill Richardson (Aaron) of Trumann; grandchildren, Gage Vinson, Calye Vinson Kibby (Quinton), Jordyn Hammons (Murphy Williams), Landon Vinson, Aiden Hammons, Adelyn Vinson, and Ryder Hammons; step-grandchildren, Madison Mothershed Pierce (Taylor) and Feather Fender Mothershed (Hunter); and great-grandchildren, Emery Kibby, Reece Williams, and Keenan Vinson. Rick is also survived by his nephews, Jason Vinson (Susan), Jordan Vinson (Mary Katherine), and Dalton Watson (Lacey), along with many extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory. The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 15th, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann. A Celebration of life will follow in the chapel at 3:00 p.m. with Rev.
