Robert Douglas Hodges, 86, of Trumann, Arkansas, was born on November 11, 1939, to Austin Hodges and Pearl McClelland Hodges Williams. He was later lovingly raised by his stepfather, Arzo Williams. A proud graduate of Trumann High School, Robert began his college education at the remarkable age of 16, attending the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss), and later continued his education at Arkansas State University. He became a Master Electrician and successful business owner. Robert was a faithful member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, where he was an active member of the Men’s Sunday School Class. He also served his community as the past President of Trumann Rural Water, a role that reflected his commitment to improving the lives of those around him. He is survived by his devoted wife, Diana Robbins Hodges of the home; his son Brent Long and wife, Kim, of Jonesboro, Arkansas; and his daughter, LeAnn Dow and husband, Tim, of Trumann, Arkansas. He was a proud grandfather to Jordan Long (Kallie), MacKenzie Hampton (Shane), Ashton Carr (Josh), Kelsey Mason (Tyler), Drake Long, and Brielle Rowlan. He was also blessed with ten great-grandchildren each of whom brought him great joy. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the men of the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church Men’s Sunday School Class for their friendship, prayers, and faithful support throughout the years.
